A large bubble of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere has been centered across the southern Plains which has allowed the heat to build day after day. To make matters worse, very dry conditions during the winter and spring months contributed to the development of a solid state of drought.

These already dry conditions combined with a very stagnant pattern and a lack of available tropical moisture led to day after day of high temperatures over 100 degrees. The extreme heat basically put a lid on any chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorm activity throughout the summer months. Looks like an above ground pool might be the only relief in site. It’s not too late in the summer to have one installed right now. Please visit The Above Ground Pool & Spa Company this week!
