After the recent rains the water level in your pool could be above the skimmer opening. This will cause problems with “skimming”. The dirt on the surface of your above ground pool will just float past the skimmer opening. Notice the debris attached to the skimmer faceplate in the picture. Lower your water level to allow some air intoi the opening. You might try vacuuming to syphon to lower the level.
