Why is it important to keep a proper water level in your above ground pool? The majority of dirt and debris that enters the pool is airborne. It rides on the surface of the water for longer than you think. Dust can float on the surface of your pool for 15 minutes. Keeping the water level below the “skimmer ” opening allows the filter to capture surface water that is carrying this debris.
Allowing the water level to get too low causes your pump to “suck” air, making it less efficient. So, look at the faceplate on your above ground pool skimmer, the proper water level will help make your filtration more effective.
